This entry is practical information if you have decided to purchase a car that allegedly has this Performance and Sound kit installed.
As the customer service specialist of both the dealer and certified service center told me, quite often, people choose to purchase only stickers, which confirm the installation of different kinds of additional equipment. There is some logic – why spend several thousand or EUR if you can brag with stickers, which cost several EUR. The situation becomes harsher when someone tries to sell you such labels for several thousands of EUR (claiming that a complete set of upgrades has been installed on the current car).
What is the evidence that the car has Performance and SOund kit installed?
a. when opening the engine hood – the sticker on the decorative engine cover:

b. on the engine hood, besides the label with liquids used by the car, should be a sticker with the identification code of the dealer/certified service center that performed the upgrade:

c. in the NBT screen, max values of power/torque in the Sports display menu are changed. New values: 320kW/400hp and 560Nm:

d. the current owner of the car should be able to present the following certificate:

e. when checking the car in the ISTA+ identification menu, at the end of VO options, the following record should be present:

f. when checking (requesting to the dealer) data in the BMW AG Online system, this VO addition should be visible!

Only if all these attributes are present can you be sure that a complete kit is installed. Don’t believe the claims “everything is here, the dealer just forgot to upgrade the options list” and similar bullshit.
