Deforced engines of the N53 series with a power of 160 kW were installed on 325i and 525i vehicles (E6X and E9X). The exact name of these engines: N53B30U0.


Differences from the full power version:
a. no DISA valves in the inlet manifold;
b. the throttle opens only partially (max required torque is 270 Nm);
c. even in kick-down mode, the engine works in Homogenous mode with Lambda 1.00.


The bonus of this current modification: this version can be full-fledged rebuilt as 200 kW (N53B30O0).
These engines had MSD80 management modules with initial SW/ZB 7611396 installed. This release is a total nightmare – many mistakes/software bugs, uneven/twitchy engine performance, high sensitivity to the road quality (continuous fake error messages 3104), etc.

As a result of the retrofit, in DIRU, ZB 8619724 is recorded.
