This time – another “successful” purchase on eBay. The seller is respectable, with many positive reviews. And still – injector data shoved completely incorrect values.
I asked the owner of this vehicle with the N53 series engine to send me the images of the injectors.

What is that?
a. injectors *261 are not intended for these engines;
b. injectors * 261 can not be mixed with *048 injectors;
c. we see that the injector has the 12th release, but the release data are modified. We see that the old inscription is polished out, and the new inscription, the larger font, is inaccurately painted. Such a “solution” was not used by VDO;
d. the manufacturing data of the injector do not correspond to the release data;
e. originally, these injectors did not have the 12th release! This 12th release was introduced to industrially refurbished injectors (this refurbishing was performed based on the 12th release of the *079 injector spare parts), which were intended for S63 series engine repairs during the warranty time. These refurbished injectors had a special marking – that special marking is not in place for this injector.

Here, is a second injector. In addition to all previously mentioned, I have to add:
a. the manufacturing data of the injector did not correspond to the release;
b. this injector is marked with “R” – unfortunately, this marking, too, does not correspond to the 12th release.
Conclusion: both injectors are fake. Accordingly – not a surprise that their data are incorrect and the engine has misfires, incorrect fuel mixture, error messages, and vibration.
Our suggestion is to get in touch with Bimmerprofs before purchasing the injectors. We will evaluate the injectors you have chosen.
